Share a smile this World Smile Day®

Every three minutes, another baby is born with cleft, a medical condition that can jeopardise their ability to eat, breathe, hear, and speak. By fundraising on World Smile Day®, 7 October, you can provide free cleft treatment to children globally.

In schools up and down the country, you are sure to see plenty of smiles on the faces of pupils, whether that’s in the classroom, canteen, or playground.

Sadly, this isn’t the case for the one in 700 babies born globally with a cleft.

In the UK, cleft surgery is carried out within the first 12 months of a baby’s life by the NHS.

However, hundreds of thousands of children living in resource-poor communities around the world are not as fortunate, and don’t have access to the lifesaving cleft treatment they desperately need.

An untreated cleft can lead to difficulties with eating, speaking, hearing, and breathing.

Babies and their families can also experience isolation from their communities.

By raising funds for Smile Train UK this World Smile Day®, your school can help provide these children with the transformative treatment their families would otherwise be unable to afford, giving them the opportunity to live a healthy, productive life.

Register your support to Smile Train UK on World Smile Day® and receive your free fundraising pack.

The fundraising pack contains more information about our work and provides you with top fundraising tips.

You can choose your own fundraising activities to suit your curriculum and raise as much as possible – it’s all about taking part.

We look forward to having your support on World Smile Day® and working together to help change the world one smile at time!
